Introducing Our New Rustic Equigility Course
Coming Spring 2026...

We’re very excited to share something special on the horizon here at Bank Farm Equestrian Centre. In Summer 2026, we’ll be launching our brand-new Rustic Equigility Course: a natural, confidence-building space designed for horses and riders of all levels and abilities.
Set within the heart of our beautiful Worcestershire–Shropshire borders, this new course brings together everything we believe in: partnership, trust, countryside connection, and good old-fashioned fun with horses. Whether you’re a long-standing Bank Farm customer or discovering us for the first time, we can’t wait to welcome you into this new adventure with us.
What is Horse Agility and Equigility? What’s the difference?
Horse Agility traditionally refers to in-hand groundwork, where the handler leads the horse through obstacles on foot… think bridging, weaving poles, and obstacles designed to test a horse’s confidence and responsiveness from the ground.
Equigility, by contrast, is the ridden equivalent… the rider and horse work together, negotiating similar obstacles while mounted. Equigility emphasises communication between rider and horse, helping to build trust and responsiveness under saddle. Both disciplines share many goals, such as confidence, desensitisation, and problem-solving.
At Bank Farm, we’ll be offering both in-hand horse agility and ridden equigility on the new course. This means visitors can choose whether they’d like to explore the obstacles on foot or enjoy them under saddle. Both styles bring their own benefits and a sense of fun, and we’re excited to see how our clients — and their horses — enjoy using the space.
Why We’re Bringing It to Bank Farm
Our countryside setting lends itself beautifully to this kind of natural horsemanship activity. The Rustic Equigility Course has been designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape… using wooden features, natural lines, and thoughtful obstacle layouts to encourage horses to explore without feeling overwhelmed.
From helping young horses “think their way” through a challenge, to giving older veterans something enriching and low-impact to enjoy, equigility offers so many benefits:
-
Confidence-building for horses and riders
-
Bombproofing in a gentle, enjoyable way
-
Mental stimulation for all ages
-
Challenges that encourage a calm, forward-thinking mindset
-
Stronger partnerships through trust and teamwork
We’re hoping this will be a fantastic addition to our equestrian offerings and a new opportunity for horse owners who want something different to enjoy alongside hacking and schooling.
Suitable for Lessons or Hire
When the course opens, it will be available in two ways:
Bring Your Own Horse – Horse owners will be able to hire the course for private sessions, perfect for desensitisation, confidence training, groundwork days, or simply having fun with your horse in a safe environment.
Lessons/Hire on Our Horses – If you don’t have your own horse, or you’d like guidance as you try something new, we will offer equigility lessons and hire using our lovely Bank Farm horses.
When Can You Try It?
The course will be in development throughout winter and we are looking to complete the course for sessions to start in Spring 2026.
